Unix systems architect with over 12 years of experience in several Linux & Unix flavors,  building high-performance server side Perl & Ruby apps, managing data centers and Disaster recovery setups for Business continuity.

  • Few years of Mysql, Postgres and MongoDB.
  • Perl, Ruby & a little Erlang
  • Sybase, Oracle and enterprise replication via Sybase replication server and Oracle Goldengate etc.
  • Fast becoming a Ruby convert(Sorry Perl but Ruby is the new Perl!).
  • Network management – Cisco and Nortel backbone and edge routing
  • Server capacity planning, High availability & Disaster recovery(server/site/application et cetera)
  • Design, Implement and Manage high throughput Data munging applications (especially in the Financial products side)
  • Database replication – Oracle, Sybase and MongoDB
  • Android development
  • Amazon AWS and Rackspace hosting options as a replacement for traditional “rack-and-stack” model – Yes, I love being able to spin up new instances on-demand! :-) Unless you got strict regulatory/contractual requirements about owning your servers and datacenter, AWS/Rackspace kind of hosting is the way to go…
  • Amazon EC2, S3, SES, Route 53, Beanstalk
  • Recipe based instance configuration management using Chef
  • Areas of interest – High tech, *nix, High performance databases, Messaging,Perl, Ruby, Perl DBI(Yes, that deserves a dedicated item rather than just being bunched into Perl!), Cloud computing, Mojolicious & Sinatra. Trying to learn node.js as well…
  • Why onepwr.org? This site is all about channeling the Unix Saidin:-)
